This is very rare. It has only happened a couple of times
and we wish we knew what causes this. Again, it has something do with the way the computer's
operating system is set up. What happens is that the current setting will not recognize
the .mp3 file extension.
When it does happen is is usually on a MAC computer or
when someone has a Real Player instead of a Windows Media Player. You will need to get someone
to actually look at you computer to resolve this.
If you have Windows Media Player on your computer, we
suggest you change this to your default media player when problems occur.
In all of the cases we have seen thus far, this is caused by
the existence of Real Player software on your machine. Real Player is converting the .mp3
file in the download process to another file type. The solution is simple. Disable the Real Player
or uninstall it from your machine and redownload your files into a Windows Media Player or the
latest version of Real Player.
In
order to play the mp3 file you must know where you downloaded and saved it on
your computer. As mentioned in the download instructions we
suggest you save it on your "Desktop" or set up a file called “Know How To Be Rich”.
If you cannot find the files after downloading you can
do is search your computer for the files. In Windows click on "Start" – "Search-Files
and Folders". Make sure it it looking in all directories. (C: for most computer.)
Type in the name of the file such as "Rapid
Manifestation" and it will tell you the location. Once you have found the first file the rest will be in the
same folder. You can also type in *.mp3 as the file name. This tells the computer to look for ANY mp3
files on your hard drive.
The mp3 is a high-quality,
highly compressed file format that plays on ANY computer.
Please Note: Every computer
will accept and allow you to play an Mp3 file. No Exceptions!
To play an mp3 file, you
need what is known as an "mp3 player". Chances are you already have one. We suggest the Windows Media Player. If you have a MAC you can use Real
One Player. We assume you have a Windows Media Player. This comes with Microsoft Windows. If
not, go to http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/download/AllDownloads.aspx?displang=en&qstechnology= and download the latest version FREE of charge.
If you have a MAC computer you can use Real One Player. Go to http://forms.real.com/real/player/blackjack.html and download the latest version FREE of charge.
So far we have never had anyone who could not play the mp3 file on their
computer. However, sometimes people are not familiar with HOW to play it on their computer.
1. Make sure the volume is "on" on you computer. The location for
this setting is different on each computer so you will need to find it. Also, the Windows Media Player has it's
own volume control. One may be on and not the other, so check both for the best volume control.
2 . You should be able to click on the Rapid Manifestation mp3 file or a Lesson
mp3 file and it will automatically open in the Windows Media Player. However,
if this does not happen, open the Windows Media Player and click on "File".
3. Find the place where the mp3 file is located and it will be listed in the
drop down box. Click on "Open" if it gives you that option, or just double click on the file
and it will automatically open in your Windows Media Player and begin to play.
4. After that the file will remain in the Windows Media Player so you just need
to go there to play it.
If you have Broadband or
Cable this should not be a problem. It will take less than 2 minutes. However, if you are using dial up it can take longer.
Because of the size of mp3 file and because modems, ISP's and the internet
itself can create problems, sometimes it's best to install a Download Manager. With this utility,
you can restart interrupted downloads, schedule downloads and reduce overall download times.
You can even download mp3's while you sleep.
There's a number of download managers available. Here is one of the best one’s
we have found. http://www.speedbit.com
You can play the mp3 file on your computer or on an mp3 Player. If you want to play it on a regular CD player you will need to convert the file
from an mp3 format
to a .WAV format.
This can be done quite easily.
You can produce a CD version using Windows Media.
However, we have come across a great little software program called Mp3 WAV
Converter. You can find it at: http://www.americanshareware.com/ Just click on or copy and paste this link in your browser.
The software costs $19.95 but they offer a FREE TRIAL that lets you make up to
5 .WAV files with it. It won’t cost you anything. It is fast to download the program and it is
VERY SIMPLE to use. If you like the program you can also purchase it.
All you have to do is download the software, find the mp3 file on your computer
that you wish to convert to WAV and click on the "Convert" button. It will do the rest
automatically.
A couple of tips before you begin:
1. Go into the "Options" You will see menus that say:
"Decode Source WAV Directory" and "Decode Source Mp3
Directory". It defaults to the Mp3 WAVE Converter program directory. This is where it will save your new converted
file. However, I would click on "Browse" and choose a place on your computer where you
want the file saved. This way it will be easy to find it after it is converted.
2. On the bottom it says "Channels" It defaults to Stereo, but the
Rapid Manifestation file is Mono file. If you choose Stereo the file will be TWICE the size. To save space on
your computer just change the Stereo to Mono.
After you have the file converted you can play it on your computer or put it on
a CD and play in any CD player.
There are many other
Mp3-to-WAV converters available online. Google-it and you’re sure to find one
which suits your needs.
